Accent MEH Strategic Board
Accent’s Strategic Board meets every term and the purpose of this group is to make strategic decisions on the allocation of Music projects and Funding relating to the delivery of Core and Extension Roles determined by the terms of the Music Education Grant, which is allocated through ACE (Arts Council England).
Board members have a crucial role in ensuring the proper and effective running of the Music Education Hub by bringing their independent and sound judgement to bear on issues of strategy, performance and investment of Music Education Grant resources. They are Ambassadors for the Hub, promoting the vision, values and culture of Accent MEH.
Chair of the Board- Cllr Tony Williams
“I have been involved with music for many years both as a performer and as a Director of Education for a large Musical Instrument supplier.
I have gained skills in local government through my position as Leader of The Conservative Group on Blackpool Council and as a ward councillor for eleven years.
For three years I was a member of the Arts Council. I understand the needs and challenges of music in schools and have both a committed and enthusiastic interest in ensuring that young people receive the very best in music education.”
