Music fans from far and wide came to Warrington for the afternoon of 11 June 2017 to see the world-famous Foden’s Brass Band, as well as The Foden’s Youth Band and the Foden’s Junior Band (run in partnership with Accent Music Education Hub), coming together for the second Foden’s Family Spectacular.
A varied programme of traditional Brass Band Music, Popular songs, Hymns and everything in between kept the audience riveted for the two hour concert. Notable solos were performed by Gary Curtin, Solo Euphonium and tutor in Warrington and Halton schools, and Amelia Stuart, pupil at Penketh High who has been taught since starting in our Whole Class Brass Project by Accent’s Brass tutor Richard Jones.
Janice Pounds, Arts Adviser and Strategic Lead for Accent Music Education Hub said: “We truly are blessed to have such talented musicians performing here in Warrington. Accent are delighted to support the Foden’s Junior band as we know how important it is for young, talented players to have the opportunity to develop their ensembles skills and to be inspired by playing alongside award winning musicians. To be given such a clear progression route helps young musicians to aim high, and an added bonus is being able to come and watch them perform to such a high standard right here in Warrington. Well done to all the players involved!”
