Talented young musicians from the region came to Parr Hall on 24 May 2017 to compete for the titles of Accent Primary Choir 2017 and Accent Primary Ensemble 2017, an open competition for any Primary school in either Warrington or Halton. Brook Acre Community Primary, St. Margaret’s CE Voluntary Aided Primary, Barrow Hall Community Primary, Stockton Heath Primary and Westbrook Old Hall Primary competed in the choir category, whilst Brook Acre Community Primary, St Margaret’s CE Voluntary Aided Primary and two groups from St Monica’s Catholic Primary entered in the Ensemble category.
The groups performed to an enthusiastic audience of family, friends and staff whilst a panel of esteemed judges had a front row view. After some contemplating and deliberating, the judges finally announce the winners as Accent Primary Choir 2017- Barrow Hall “KS2 Sing Club” and Accent Primary Music Ensemble 2017 - St. Margaret’s “Strings Out Loud”. Each School wins this coveted title, as well as a cheque for £250.00.

The standard of Music Education in our region is very high, and events such as this are testament to the dedication and hard work of tutors and teachers, as well as that of our talented children.
