Nearly 350 children from across the region came together in song over three evenings for our Children of the Hub Sing ‘Disney’ concert series. Children from 12 primary schools came together in fine voice to sing a range of popular Disney classics including Hakuna Matata from ‘The Lion King’, the Grammy- winning Colours of the Wind from ‘Pocahontas’ and the ever-popular Let it Go from ‘Frozen’.
The schools sang songs together as a massed choir conducted by Lead Practitioner Janet Whittingham, and each school had the opportunity to perform one song of their own choice individually. Audiences were also treated to guest solo performances from pupils from Wade Deacon High School, The Heath School and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic College.
The Mayor of Halton attended one of the concerts and each school received a certificate for their performance, along with rapturous applause from the audience of parents, teachers, friends and family. Janice Pounds, Strategic Lead for Accent Music Education Hub said: “Children love to sing together and the physical, emotional and social benefits are well documented. We really enjoyed hearing the enthusiasm and musicality of the children and hope that this encourages them to continue performing.”
