Two Schools Win Song Writing Competition

January 11, 2017

Congratulations go to St Bede’s Catholic School and Westbrook Old Hall School for being Joint Winners of the Accent Music Education Hub Song Writing Competition 2016. Once again the competition has brought young talent to the fore, as groups of pupils from 3 different schools entered a total of 8 different songs to compete for the prize. Judges Chris Bastock and Steve Millington gave a total of four points each to the three winning songs and commented on their individual merits. John Oates, Lead Practitioner for Accent Music Education Hub, said: “Writing songs is a very structured process and it shows a great musical awareness to be able to pull all the various elements together so well. Well done to all the entrants and especially to our winners- I hope they consider entering national competitions in the future!” To hear all the entries, please follow the link below.
