July 1, 2016

Hundreds of Children from Warrington and Halton joined vocal forces once again to bring a fun-packed evening of song and dance to the Halliwell Jones Stadium for this year’s Accent Music Education Hub ‘Accent on Pop’ Concert.

Run in partnership with Score Creative Education and supported by the Warrington Wolves Foundation Accent provided an opportunity for  children from 20 schools  to sing in harmony to a selection of contemporary pop songs that they had learnt in school through video links.  The evening was led by pop vocalist and singing tutor Trish McTeague,

The schools taking part this year were: Barrow Hall Community Primary, Beechwood Primary, Callands Primary, Cherry Tree Primary, Croft Primary, Ditton Primary, Great Sankey Primary, Hale CE Voluntary Primary, Park Road Community Primary, Penketh Community Primary, Penketh South Community Primary, St Bridget's Catholic Primary, St Clements' Catholic Primary, St Michael's Catholic Primary, Statham Community Primary, Twiss Green Community Primary, University Academy Warrington, Victoria Road Primary and Widnes Academy.

The audience were also treated to a performance from Fusion Dance Troup, a beatboxer, a guest solo by Ella from Orford Youth Base and several appearances from Wolfie himself! Compere Janet Whittingham, Performing Arts Manager from Palace Fields Primary Academy, and two children from each school had the very great honour of meeting the Mayors of both Warrington and Halton, who presented the children with a certificate celebrating their performance. Well done to everyone who took part and made the evening so memorable!
