Jamie Reid entered the Fodens Solo, Duet and Quartet Championships for the second year. Last year he won his age category and Accent Music Education Hub are delighted to announce that Jamie has won the trophy again for the 2nd time.
Jamie was also entered in the 16 and under technical solo section. Richard Jones, Tutor for Accent Music Education Hub and who leads the Accent Community band said "how delighted he was that Jamie had won these prestigious awards. Jamie went for his audition for the National Children's Brass Band of Great Britian and has been successfully placed near the top of the list for acceptance. The auditioner was that impressed by Jamie that on the same day, he was asked to audition for the older National Youth Brass Band of Great Britatin and he has been put on the waiting list for that too".
Amelia Stuart from Penketh High School was also entered for the youngest age group and she played extremely well for one of her first big competitions.
Jennie Worral has this week successfully auditioned in a Musician of the Year competition and has got through to the final stages.
The children are a credit to Mr. Jones, their families and schools. Mr. Jones should be very proud of his continuing specialist support and passion to his music and the children.
