Full House at The Accent Annual Keyboard Concert.
300 Children from 10 Warrington Primary Schools performed to a sell-out audience at the Parr Hall in attendance by The Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Geoff & Jean Settle. Fran Sixsmith Keyboard Project Manager/Learning and Marketing Manager for Accent Music Education Hub organised the concert to celebrate the children’s learning and progression throughout the year. The children performed a variety of repertoire and fun vocal medleys including classical, blues, pop and rock. A student soloist from The Heath School, Runcorn joined the children with an outstanding performance. The Keyboard Project is delivered by Fran Sixsmith and music tutors Su Ancliffe and Heather Rae and reaches approximately 1000 children per week. All weekly music lessons link to maths and literacy and children performing have been learning to play since September 2014. Janice Pounds Strategic Lead/Arts Adviser says Accent Music Education Hub are delighted to give the children the opportunity to perform in a prestigious setting, it is a wonderful opportunity to build confidence and self-esteem and the standard of performance was excellent and confirms that this type of tuition is very effective and meaningful to our children.
