The Merseyside Music Education Hub Alliance (MMEHA)
The Merseyside Music Education Hub Alliance, or MMEHA, is a conglomerate of regional Merseyside Music Hubs working jointly to ensure that all young people in our region are given access to relevant, quality Music Education with a broad range of musical opportunities.
The Hubs joined in this alliance are Accent Music Education Hub (Warrington & Halton), Sky Music Education Hub (Sefton & Knowsley), Resonate (Liverpool) and St. Helens Music Education Hub (St. Helens).
Music Hubs work in partnership with external organisations to increase the range, depth and reach of opportunities available to young people in their individual regions. The Hubs in this alliance aim to pool resources and expertise, lobbying local stakeholders to promote Music Education within arts and culture across the Liverpool City Region. MMEHA will develop current partnerships whilst seeking new opportunities, with the ultimate aim of ensuring that the best possible range of musical experiences is accessible to young musicians. The Alliance provides an authoritative identity for Music Education, acting as a champion for young people by influencing key stakeholders to position Music Education as a critically important and valued part of a rich and broad education for all children and young people.
There are over 200,000 pupils in Merseyside schools, and the Hubs in this alliance represent a collective £4 million Arts Council investment to 2020. The reach of MMEHA is extensive and the impact of its work will make a significant contribution to the region’s musical, educational and cultural life.
