The whole class Recorder Project is delivered to develop instrumental skills on this popular instrument. Children learn instrument-specific skills alongside breathing techniques, and are encouraged to develop musical knowledge, including rhythm, notation and dynamics.
The repertoire is fun, lively and engaging, and children are encouraged to play in the end of year assembly, and concerts throughout the year, where they showcase their learning.
This project is an excellent starter project for children who may wish to continue onto other woodwind instruments.
The Recorder project is delivered over a 35 week period to Key Stage 1 and 2 children. Each lesson lasts for one hour.
