Brass Project

The popular Brass project allows a Whole Class to develop their musical skills and knowledge through a 35-week course of Brass Instrumental Tuition. Specialist Brass tutors will guide each child in selecting the best brass instrument for their individual needs and these may include, trumpet, tenor horn, French horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium and tuba. Class teachers and Teaching Assistants are encouraged to learn an instrument alongside the students to enhance the overall musical development of the group.

Through the project, students develop the following skills and attributes:

  • Reading staff notation

  • Composition

  • Improvisation

  • Performance skills

  • Independent learning

  • Working as a team

  • Improving instrumental technique

Students who enjoy the project are encouraged to join one of our ensembles to continue their development. Find out more about these ensembles.
