African and Samba Drumming Project
African and Samba drumming projects involve the whole class learning and enjoying the art of percussion. There is a strong focus on learning about different cultures and their approaches to music, song and dance.
Children get a very positive start to playing music together. The sessions are fun and exciting as children play rhythms on authentic instruments. Alongside developing musical and rhythmic skills, these projects develop team building skills within the Whole Class Setting.
Schools can select either the Samba or African project to link with any curriculum themes that may be appropriate.
Groups have the opportunity to play at 'end of term' assemblies and can be invited to play in other concerts outside of school. Some groups have performed at an Olympic Torch ceremony, at Liverpool Cathedral and even The Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.
